TRS Wholesale Co Ltd is recalling its TRS Turmeric Powder as it may be contaminated with Salmonella, putting the public at risk of salmonellosis. Usual symptoms of salmonellosis include fever, diarrhoea and abdominal cramps. However, if it enters the bloodstream, it can become life-threatening.
Turmeric Powder
Turmeric is a herbaceous perennial plant of the ginger family. It is native to the Indian subcontinent and Southeast Asia.
It is the root of the turmeric plant that is used, either fresh, or boiled, dried and ground as a powder. It is commonly used as both a colouring and a flavouring agent in Asian cooking, and for dyeing.
