Chicken & Tripe

Chicken & Tripe Dog Food

Avondale Pet Foods Ltd are recalling their Just Natural Chicken & Tripe because salmonella has been found in the product, which could lead to severe illness in both humans and animals.

Salmonella

Salmonella is a common cause of illness in the world. Common symptoms are diarrhoea, stomach pain, nausea, fever and sometimes vomiting.
However, if it enters the blood stream, it can become life-threatening.

Salmonella

Salmonella can be found in the guts of animals and humans, and thus can be in foods such as raw meat and poultry, unpasteurised dairy products and eggs.

This pet food carries a potential risk due to the presence of salmonella, either through direct handling of the pet food, or indirectly, for example from pet feeding bowls, utensils or contact with the faeces of animals. In humans, symptoms caused by salmonella usually include fever, diarrhoea and abdominal cramps. Infected animals themselves may not necessarily display signs of illness, but symptoms can include diarrhoea.

They have also created a very clear recall notice on their own website, which is very easy to find. We are impressed with this, as most companies either do not mention their recall on their website at all, or have it somewhere hidden away.
