Barn Farmed Liquid Egg White

Dr Zak's Barn Farmed Liquid Egg White

Dr Zak’s is recalling several batches of their Barn Farmed Liquid Egg White because salmonella bacteria have been found in the product.

Salmonella

Salmonella is a common cause of illness in the world. Common symptoms are diarrhoea, stomach pain, nausea, fever and sometimes vomiting.
However, if it enters the blood stream, it can become life-threatening.

Salmonella can be found in the guts of animals and humans, and thus can be in foods such as raw meat and poultry, unpasteurised dairy products and eggs. It is therefore unusual to find it in this amaranth, which may have gotten there due to cross contamination, but no information has been given on this.
