What we do for the environment

Here at Pochat Training, we care about the environment - and have always done so! Here are a few things we do as a business.

The Environment and Climate Warming

We have always done as much as can to help the environment, both as individuals and as a business. From using eco-friendly cleaning products and toilet paper, to using recycled paper and re-using items where we can, to being one of Chesterfield's Plastic-Free Champions and now, having an enhanced recycling point at the back of our property that is open to the public.

PLEASE NOTE THIS RECYCLING POINT IS NO LONGER THERE DUE TO A MOVE. WE ARE WORKING ON AN ALTERNATE LOCATION.

However, you are able to drop off your specialist recycling with us at our office - though this has to be arranged beforehand (we work a lot from home and aren't always there).

Recycling

You can drop off your specialist recycling with us at our office in Brimington, BY APPOINTMENT ONLY.

This is because we very often work from home and are not always there - or are in the middle of training. That is what we do, after all 😉

terracycle

Many of the products that we collect will be going to Terracycle to be recycled.

charity

Some of the products we collect will go to charity, to either be re-used directly or help with their fundraising

community groups

Some of the products will go to local community groups, to either be re-used directly or help with their fundraising

schools

Some of the products we collect will go straight to schools to be re-used in different projects, such as art

What Do we Collect?

The list of items that we will be collecting at our Enhanced Recycling Unit is below. Contact us if you have any questions, or if you'd like us to collect items for your business, charitable organisation or school.

We now also collect bubble wrap and other packaging fillers for a business that sends fragile items - re-using is better still than recycling! Please put your packaging inside another waterproof bag (such as an unwanted charity bag) and put the bag in one of the trays underneath the containers.

Please pre-sort your items before you come to us. If there is no container for some of the items that you've brought, then please put those inside a waterproof bag and put the bag in one of the trays underneath the containers.

Please note, there are two pages in this pdf

Plastic-Free Champions

As Plastic Free Champions, we try and use as few new plastic products as we can.

For instance, our clipboards are made of wood, not plastic. The little rubbish bags we hand out at first aid courses are compostable. We re-use items in order to avoid having to buy more one-time use plastics such as that found on bandages - but don't worry, after each use, they're put aside for two weeks to make sure no pathogens (such as Coronavirus) get transferred to other learners.

We are always open to other suggestions of what we as a business can do to help the environment (or at least to not make matters so much worse).
