Sainsbury's Sliced Beetroot
Sainsbury's is recalling one batch of their Sliced Beetroot, sold in jars, because there may be small pieces of glass present in the beetroot, making it possibly very unsafe to eat.
Types of Contamination
There are four different types of food contamination:
- Physical Contamination
- Chemical Contamination
- Microbial Contamination
- Allergenic Contamination
Physical Contamination means that a physical object has gotten into the food product. This could be anything, but in this case, are small pieces of glass. This means there is a serious risk to a person's health, if they were to eat, or attempt to eat, one of these pieces of glass,
