Tree nut allergies
Tree nut allergies are one of the most common food allergies, together with peanuts and shellfish. For information regarding the difference between peanuts and tree nuts, go here.
Tree nut allergies (and other severe allergies) can lead to a severe allergic reaction called anaphylaxis. Anaphylaxis is life-threatening, and if not treated immediately with adrenaline (epinephrine), the person can die. Their lips will swell up, their throat will close, they might get red splotches all over, their blood pressure will drop.
See the slide images below as to how to treat anaphylaxis.
