Kania Gravy is being recalled due to chemical contamination.

Lidl UK is recalling Kania Gravy Granules Meat and Kania Gravy Granules Chicken has they have become contaminated with a chemical contaminant called xylene. Xylene is a petrochemical used as a solvent in products like paints and inks.

Chemical Contaminant

The levels of this xylene contaminant exceeds those set to minimise risks to health, and such, these products are now being recalled.

Xylene can cause headache, dizziness, nausea and vomiting, irritation of the mouth, throat, nose and lungs. I severe cases, it can lead to heart problems, liver and kidney damage and coma.
