For the second time in a few weeks, Dunnes Stores has had to recall foods due to contamination hazards. Last time, it was their Chicken, Bacon & Sweetcorn Deli Filler due to the presence of Listeria monocytogenes.

This time, four of their Simply Better Yoghurts might have been contaminated with small pieces of rubber.

Types of Contamination

There are four different types of food contamination:

  • Physical Contamination
  • Chemical Contamination
  • Microbial Contamination
  • Allergenic Contamination

Physical  Contamination

Physical Contamination means that a physical object has gotten into the food product. This could be anything, but in this case, are small pieces of rubber.
