The Need for Health and Safety Training and Legislation

  • In 2015/16, 1.3 million people suffered from a work-related illness.
  • 72,702 were reported injured.
  • 144 People lost their lives.
  • The estimated cost of injuries and ill health in that year was £14.1 billion.
  • 30.4 million working days were lost due to work-related illnesses and injuries.
  • It is an employer's duty to protect the health, safety and welfare of their employees and other people who might be affected by their business. This includes providing sufficient information, instruction and training of employees, so they can work in a way that does not put themselves or others at risk.

What happens when workers get injured or die while at work?


When the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) finds out about unsafe working practices, they will take action.

When people are injured or worse, killed, they will take them to court and fine the company. People can also end up in jail for allowing unsafe work practices.

Our Health and Safety training courses are nationally recognised, Ofqual regulated qualifications accredited by Qualsafe Awards. This means that you can be rest assured that your Health and Safety Certificates fulfills the legal requirements, is a very good way to make sure your employees are trained appropriately and helps towards minimizing illnesses and injuries

Where do we train our Health and Safety Training Courses?


We provide most of our public training in our venue in New Whittington, Chesterfield. Sometimes we use other venues in different locations as well.

For private courses, we will come to clients' own venues if they so wish. The following list of possible locations is not exhaustive, we have even traveled as far as Cumbria and Cornwall to run training courses!
