Are Apricot and Almond Kernels safe to eat? No, they’re not. They contain a naturally occurring substance (cyanogenic glycosides) which, when combined with our saliva, turns into a toxin (hydrogen cyanide). So, definitely not so safe.
There are plenty of other foods that also contain natural toxins. For instance, alcohol (yes indeed!), raw cassava and bamboo shoots, certain fish and, of course, wild mushrooms.
