Allergen Recall: Dr Oetker’s Ready Rolled Icing
Allergen Recall: Dr Oetker Ready Rolled Icing
Dr Oetker Ready Rolled Icing White
Dr Oetker's Regal-Ice Ready Rolled Icing White is being recalled. A small number of packs were mistakenly filled with ready rolled marzipan instead. This makes it a health hazard to those with an allergy to nuts (almonds) and could lead to them going into anaphylactic shock.
Marzipan is made of either sugar or honey, with ground almonds added to it. In the Middle East, it is also made from oatmeal, milled wheat or semolina (wheat), making it not just a health hazard to those with an allergy to nuts but also to those with an allergy or intolerance to wheat (gluten). In Asia, they sometimes use cashew nuts instead of almonds and in the Philippines pili nuts (but they're still nuts).
